Teacher Licensing at Purdue

If you are interested in obtaining a K-12 teaching license visit Purdue's Office of Professional Preparation and Licensure (OPPL) or e-mail at licensure@purdue.edu.

The OPPL also provides information about the Stem Goes Rural program and the Transition to Teaching program.

Current teachers can find information about Professional Development including workshops/conferences, continuing education and professional organizations.

Indiana CORE Academic Skills Assessment

 Information about:

  • Dates and deadlines for the Indiana CORE Assessments for Educator Licensure program,
  • Details about the requirements for taking the new assessments,
  • Test preparation materials for candidates and faculty members will become available .

                The state’s new teacher licensing testing program will include tests in four developmental levels and more than 50 content areas. The program's CORE Academic Skills Assessment, which will assess candidates' essential skills in reading, writing and mathematics, will be the first to be administered in January 2013. The site will begin accepting registrations for administration of that test in October 2012.
