Creating a LibGuide

This guide will help you design an accessible, user-friendly LibGuide.

Before You Get Started

Make sure you've read through the Best Practices & Standards sections so that you can build a guide that follows the guidelines we have in place to help make our content user-friendly and accessible.

Guide Ownership & Editors Defined

Owner: Someone who has complete access to create and edit content and change guide properties. The Owner is often the original guide creator, but may be someone who has taken over ownership as the result of a guide transfer.

To change the owner of a guide,

  1. Click Content from the menu at the top of the page and choose Guides.
  2. Search for the guide by current owner or name of guide.
  3. Click on the person icon () under the action menu.
  4. Select a new owner from the drop down menu.
  5. Click Save.

Editor: Someone who is allowed to create and edit content on the guide and change the guide properties, excluding the Guide Status. 

To add a guide editor(s),

  1. Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner and choose Guide Editors.
  2. Search by name for the person you want to add.  
  3. Click Save.

Important Note: "Editor" in this context should not be confused with the Editor account type which is different.
