Data Depot

The Data Depot is a high-capacity, fast, reliable and secure data storage service designed, configured and operated for the needs of Purdue researchers in any field and shareable with both on-campus and off-campus collaborators. Privacy Data Depot + community clusters have been used by research covered by EAR.
Accessible from HPC systems Depot is mounted directly on HPC clusters using GPFS.   Data to and from Depot can use Globus for transfer. Personal and lab computers on campus can also transfer files with SCP/SFTP, CIFS, NFS from anywhere.
Back-ups Replicated across campus. Nightly snapshots to protect against accidental deletion.
Data retention Data is not purged.
Shared account/support for collaboration Set up to allow research lab wide access. Files/directories can be shared with collaborators.
Permissions Can be set based on Project Team’s preferences.
Access after you leave Purdue Lose access, but data is retained as long as a Purdue affiliated person is the project manager.
