Finding and Using E-books

This guide explains how to find and use e-books.

OECD iLibrary

To access an item that is available through OECD iLibrary, you will need to search for the item in the library catalog.OECD iLibrary Books Complete link example

You will see View Online: OECD Books and Papers OR View Online: OECD iLibrary Books Complete under the View It option in the online catalog. 

You can also search for OECD books on the OECD iLibrary website.

Accessing E-books from OECD iLibrary

You will be able to read the book online whenever you have internet access. 

To read the book online, you can click the blue eye link with the word READ.

The book will open in your web browser and you can read it directly there. If you scroll farther down on the page, you can see that the table of contents has broken down the chapters and sections so you can click directly on a chapter or section to read it.

Downloading E-books and Cchapters

To download books or chapters in OECD iLibrary, you can click the red symbol that says PDF. This will allow you to download the book as a PDF and save it to your computer.

Save, Share, Cite

You will have to Register to create an account within OECD iLibrary to save items as favorites. You can create an account at the top of the page where it says Register.

Share link example

To share the book or chapter with other Purdue affiliated individuals, you can click Read on the section you want to share and when that opens up, look for the Share Link and a popup will give you options and you can copy the link, copy the link with the cover image or copy the embed code.

Cite

Cite this publication link

To cite the book, look for the Cite this Publication link and it will give you the option to copy the citation or export it to your preferred citation management software.
