Guide to finding resources for philosophy research.

This guide has been created to help those new to research in academic philosophy begin to navigate resources available through Purdue University Libraries and some resources that are Open Access. Please contact the Philosophy Library Liaison if you have any suggestions for new resources to add.

For information about Purdue Library Policies, including information on Patron Responsibilities, Acceptable Uses of Electronic Resources, Loan Periods, and Fines & Fees, please visit the Library Policies web page and the Borrow and Renew web page.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to any Subject Librarian, stop by a physical library, or chat with us online.

IMPORTANT: Humanities, Social Sciences & Education Library (HSSE) Closures

2nd and 3rd floor access to HSSE will be restricted for most of the Fall 2023 semester.

Request items through Purdue Libraries Catalog, the main search tool for finding and browsing books held by Purdue University Libraries, for pickup at the HSSE information desk. Purdue West Lafayette books can take 24-48 hours to be made available, and Interlibrary Loan requests can take 5-7 days, depending on current location of item.

To learn how to request books using the Purdue Libraraies Catalog, see the video tutorial, "How to Request Materials Online".
