Purdue Libraries Catalog

The Purdue Libraries Catalog is the main search tool for finding and browsing books held by Purdue University Libraries.

To search books available on all Purdue campuses (see PurdueBorrow LibGuide), use the Advanced Search interface and select "PurdueBorrow and Everything" (this is also the default setting).

Tool Features

  • Limiters to refine your search results
  • Enables subject searching for books
  • Provides physical location of print resources held by Purdue University Libraries (West Lafayette)
  • Request books for delivery or pickup
  • Gain access to e-books

To learn how to request books using the Purdue Library Catalog, see the video tutorial, "How to Request Materials Online".

Delivery of Print Materials

You must "Sign In" to your library account when requesting materials through the Purdue Libraries Catalog. The delivery options available to you for requested materials will be made apparent after clicking "Request."

  • On-Campus Pickup and Delivery-- Current faculty/staff/students with an active PUID and visitors with an active borrowing card may request materials from the Libraries for pickup at any campus location. Faculty, staff, and visiting scholars who request materials be delivered to their on-campus building (i.e. KRAN) should expect delivery within 2-3 business days via campus mail.
  • Personal Pickup and Delivery-- Faculty, staff, retirees (including emeritus faculty), graduate students, and online-only undergraduates have the option to request home delivery of Libraries-owned print materials (within the US and Canada only). Eligible print materials will have a "Personal Delivery" drop-down request option in Library Search after clicking "Request Hold." Not all print collections are available for this service.

For more detailed information on these options, please visit the Borrow and Renew web page.

WorldCat

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan enables current Purdue West Lafayette students, faculty, and staff to obtain research materials not owned by Purdue Libraries. This includes books, as well as other materials like articles, book chapters, DVDs, microfilm, sheet music, etc.

Suggest a Purchase

Anyone can submit purchase requests using the Suggest a Purchase form.

This form also pops up for books found through the Catalog but are not owned by any of the Purdue University campuses. A variety of factors determine whether suggested items are purchased. Priority is given to materials that support the curriculum or current research activities, but all suggestions are welcomed.
