Researcher Profiles

The Author Profile in Scopus is the author level platform for attribution. The way they are generated by Scopus is based on the assumption that researchers are attached to institutions, and therefore the algorithm that builds profiles is able to accurately attribute profiles to the correct researcher. What this means in simpler terms is that it looks at the affiliation and name on a paper, and builds profiles off of that information.

In the author profile you can see the number of documents, citation count, and other metrics at the author level. You can view these by selecting author metrics in the third column in the author profile.

You can claim you profile by clicking the "is this you?" button at the top right of the record.

  • You can then claim your profile by connecting your Mendeley account with Scopus. Mendeley is a suite of software owned by the publisher Elsevier who owns Scopus as well.
  • From there you can further ensure that your research is properly attributed to you by syncing your ORCID id number with Scopus. For more information on how to do this please visit our guide located here
