What is a Scopus ID?

What is a Scopus ID?

The long-form answer is that it is a unique identifier that is generated by an algorithm to be both unique and automatically assigned. You do not have to register for this number, it is generated by Scopus once you have more than two articles published in journals indexed by Scopus.

  • Find your Scopus ID by conducting an author search in Scopus with your name you publish with
  • Don't use affiliation or your ORCID ID to search since you want to check if you have multiple IDs
  • If you have multiple names you have published with, find these profiles and request to merge them (this can take up to seven days)
  • If you cannot find your name, then your work might not be indexed by Scopus, in order to be indexed you must have two works in Scopus
