Introduction

Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field that advances methods for storing, retrieving, and analyzing biological data such as DNA, RNA, protein sequences, structure, function, pathways, and interactions.  Bioinformatics is critical to research areas across the life sciences including biomedical research, precision medicine, medicinal chemistry and agriculture.  Bioinformatics requires training in biology, computer science, statistics and data science.  Several introductory reviews are listed below.  You can find more reviews on the Reviews page.
