Locating and Using Images for Presentations and Coursework

Resources for finding open source resources and citation information.

Introduction

Welcome! Images you find on the Internet are more often than not under copyright and not free to use. Included in this Libguide are links to images that are available for use with proper attribution. Attribution means you have created a citation for the work, so the creator has been given credit. Included are some resources that offer free, stock photos that you do not have to give attribution to the creator (they are marked as free stock photos). You will also find directions for citing images. Information included is not legal advice. When you use any visual material, you are responsible for learning the restrictions and permissions of that specific image. If you have questions that go beyond the resources provided, you are responsible for seeking legal advice.
