HIST 395 Famines in History: International Government Organizations

Will provide access to scholarly governmental and non-governmental resources for this class taught by Professor Doug Hurt during Spring 2020.

International Government Organizations

Various international government organizations are also responsible for responding to outbreaks of famine and trying to mitigate their impacts.  They also produce voluminous amounts of information resources on these events and the international response to them.  Examples include:

European Union Development & Cooperation

International Organization for Migration (IOM)

UN Food & Agricultural Organization (FAO)

United Nations Official Document System (Provides access to documents produced by multiple UN organizational entities.)

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)

United Nations International Children's Education Fund (UNICEF)

World Food Programme (WFP)

World Meteorological Organisation (WMO)
