Information guide for Midwest Business Librarian Summit (2021) event at Purdue University.

Midwest Business Librarian Summit

Thank you to all who attended MBLS 2021! Slides from our wonderful Keynote by Katrian Stierholz, Director of Library and Research Information Services at the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank, can be found below, as well as a link to the MBLS conference repository with slides from the lightning talks.

MBLS is an annual event to gather together academic, corporate, and public business librarians to discuss outreach, instruction, resources, and all things business librarian! This year’s Summit will be on October 11, 2021, at Purdue University. Learn more here!

Registration for MBLS 2021 is now closed.

Call for Lightning Talks

Can you talk for just 5 minutes about what you’ve been doing as a business librarian? We’re asking those registered for MBLS to apply to present a lightning talk! It could be an interesting project, a workflow improvement, a negotiation strategy, a resource discovery, an innovative approach to your job, or something completely different. As long as it relates to business librarianship, we at MBLS want to hear about it. The summit has grown substantially since last year, so we will include as many 5 min talks as possible. Send your idea along here. You only need your title and abstract at this point in the process.

Lightning Presentation Call-Out Schedule:

  • September 12 - Submission Deadline
  • September 20 - Acceptance Announcement
  • October 4 - Slides Due
  • October 11 - MBLS
