The Company of Biologists

Purdue University has joined the Read & Publish Open Access Initiative of The Company of Biologists. Under this 3-year agreement, corresponding authors affiliated with Purdue University - West Lafayette campus can freely publish open access research articles. In addition, we retain unlimited access to read all current and available Company of Biologists archive content dating back to 1853.

Which journals are covered under this agreement?

Three hybrid open access journals: Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology; as well as two fully open access journals: Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open.

Who is eligible to participate?

Corresponding authors at Purdue University--West Lafayette can publish Open Access research articles without paying an article processing charge. Eligible authors must be affiliated with Purdue University at the time the manuscript is accepted for publication and the manuscript must be accepted within the time limits of the agreement.

How long do we have access to this offer?

This agreement is in effect beginning January 1, 2023 and runs through December 31, 2025.

How can I take advantage of this offer?

You must provide your Purdue affiliation at the time of article submission. Use your Purdue email address when you submit your manuscript and be sure to include your institutional affiliation, including institutional address. After your article is accepted for publication, complete and return the Publication Agreement in your Bench>Press Author Area. For more information, visit Company of Biologists Guide for Authors.
