Purdue University Libraries and the Royal Society of Chemistry have an Open Access Agreement in place that allows Purdue authors to publish Open Access in any Royal Society of Chemistry journal, without the need to pay article processing fees. This agreement is in effect until December 31, 2026. More information about Royal Society of Chemistry Read and Publish agreements, see the Royal Society of Chemistry information page.
All Royal Society of Chemistry journals are included in this agreement. The agreement covers article processing fees for Hybrid Open Access journals, which allow authors to choose to publish openly, as well as Gold Open Access journals, which require all authors to publish openly.
This agreement only covers Article Processing Charges. The publisher may require additional fees for reprints or cover artwork. These additional fees are not covered under the agreement.
Corresponding authors at Purdue University--West Lafayette can publish Open Access without paying an article processing charge. This agreement is in effect beginning January 1, 2024 and runs through December 31, 2026. You must be listed as the corresponding author--both in the manuscript as well as in RSC's online submission system. Use your Purdue email address when submitting your manuscript. Make sure you state your Purdue University affiliation in the manuscript and list your Purdue email address in your manuscript. DO NOT sign the standard publishing license. Instead, select and sign a CC BY or CC BY-NC license. Questions can be directed to Nina Collins, Scholarly Publishing Librarian, nkcollin@purdue.eduWho is eligible to participate?
