EndNote is a desktop software designed to help store and organize bibliographic references in personal databases called "libraries" on the user's own computer. Users can create separate bibliographies or insert citations from their libraries into papers they are writing by using the "Cite While You Write" (CWYW) feature. Users can download references from online databases or enter them into the libraries manually.
