Officially AMA does not recommend citing ChatGPT as a source of information. Rather the guidance is to identify when, where, and in what way AI tools such as ChatGPT have been used. It is recommended to include this in text or perhaps as a footnote. If you are submitting work for publication, in is strongly encouraged to check the author guidelines or check with the editor on how they want AI tools referenced. If you are submitting a class assignment, please verify with your instructor how they want you to reference AI tools such as ChatGPT. For cases where you have not described in text how the AI Tool was used or what prompt you asked it, use the below modification
