An overview of the Bloomberg terminal in the Parrish Library.

Bloomberg Certification

Overview

  • Bloomberg offers three free, self-paced certificate courses that MUST be taken from the Purdue Bloomberg terminal.
    • Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC): an introduction to financial markets -- their original, best-known certificate.
    • Bloomberg Finance Fundamentals (BFF): an introduction to key concepts in finance and investment.
    • Bloomberg Environmental Social Governance (ESG): an introduction to ESG strategies and reporting.
  • Each course takes 6-10 hours and can be completed in multiple sessions; details are available
  • Free remote access to the courses is unavailable per Bloomberg. 

To Enroll

  • Create a profile.
    • Login via Windows to the Bloomberg terminal in the Parrish Library.
    • Select the Bloomberg icon on the desktop.
    • Login to the Bloomberg terminal with the credentials posted at the desk.
    • Once Bloomberg launches, you are prompted to press Enter to begin. The next screen is the Login. Instead of using our default group Bloomberg login, select “Create a New Login.”
    • A form appears; enter your personal information and create a new password.
    • Complete any other required fields.
    • Choose a login validation method like text or email.
    • Enter the validation code they send to you.
    • Complete the profile (a few more fields to fill in).
    • You will be eventually prompted to "Launch Course."
    • A web browser window will pop up and take you to the course selection page.
