A new fulfillment network for requesting physical materials located at Purdue University and its regional campuses, Purdue Fort Wayne and Purdue Northwest.

How to Request from Purdue Fort Wayne or Purdue Northwest

The default search in Library Search includes the following:

  • Everything (same as using the Search All option from the main Libraries homepage)
  • All physical materials (includes books, DVDs, journals, etc.) eligible for request from Purdue Northwest (PNW) and Purdue Fort Wayne (PFW). You will notice the new facet/scope name in the drop-down menu.

Any materials with the Request this Item link can be requested through PurdueBorrow (if on the shelf and available).

To narrow results and view only materials available from PurdueBorrow, you can click the PurdueBorrow Regional Libraries filter on the left and choose one of the other campuses.

You will see all results where PFW and/or PNW have the physical item, including electronic resources available to you through West Lafayette's subscriptions. This will be helpful if you do not want to use the ebook and would like to request a physical copy instead (As of 2/14/22, there is a system issue with requesting physical copies from PFW/PNW where we have ebook access. Please use Interlibrary Loan instead). Once you find the item you would like to request, click the item's title or click Request this Item.

The How to get it section includes links to Interlibrary Loan, purchase requests, etc. You will also notice a new Get it from PurdueBorrow section below that. Click the regional campus' name to see if the book is on the shelf and available for requesting.

  • If the book is on the shelf and available for request, the Request link will be shown. You must be logged in to your account to see request links.

  • If the book is not on the shelf and not available for request, there will be no Request link when logged in and you will see that the item is on loan or checked out. Scroll up to use the Interlibrary Loan link instead to request and library staff will attempt to obtain the item from another library around the world.

You may choose to pick up your materials here at one of our library locations (default choice) or at either of the regional campuses - you can choose one of those under the Pickup Campus drop-down menu. Click Send Request when ready.

After being sent, requests can be found in the Library Search My Account section. Scroll to the top of the page and click your name in the right-hand corner. Again, you must be signed in to see this. If you are not, you will see Sign in instead of your name.

The My Requests section defaults to our home institution (Purdue University) so if you have sent requests to either regional campus, you will need to click the option for that campus to see its status.

  • If there are active requests or loans from PFW and/or PNW, the clipboard icon will appear next to it like below.
  • You may renew materials on this screen, if eligible.
