Bloomberg Certification
Overview
- Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC), popularly known as "Bloomberg Certification," is a self-paced e-learning course that provides an interactive introduction to the financial markets -- use the command, BCER <GO>.
- Bloomberg Environment Social Governance (ESG) is another certification - a self-paced e-learning course that "teaches how to implement ESG strategies and prepare ESG reports for regulators from the perspective of a buy-side asset management firm"-- use the command, BCER <GO>.
- To take these free certification courses through Purdue, you MUST do so seated at the Bloomberg Terminal.

Get Started
- Create a profile.
- Start by logging in to the Bloomberg terminal in the Parrish Library. If the Bloomberg workstation is overly busy, you can make a reservation online at http://calendar.lib.purdue.edu/booking/bloomberg.
- Click on the Bloomberg icon from the desktop.
- Once Bloomberg is launched, you are prompted to press Enter to begin. The next screen is the Login. Instead of using our group Bloomberg login, select “Create a New Login.”
- A form appears; enter your name and address, and create a new password. Complete any other required fields.
- Choose a login validation method like text or email.
- Enter the validation code they send to you.
- Complete the profile (a few more fields to fill in).
