GIS (Geographic Information Systems Resources) at Purdue  

This guide is designed to bootstrap your project - it features first-stop or otherwise top resources for acquiring geospatial data, doing GIS work, or building geospatial applications. It is not an exhaustive directory of resources, but rather a concise and lean tool for those who are in need of some of the more common and reliable resources in GIS.

Much of the content here is mined from Purdue's GIS Librarian's Trunk.ly feed, which you're welcome to also visit and/or search (below).

MADA@P has been designed, first and foremost, to fulfill the most common requests for spatial data we receive in Libraries GIS. More often than not, these are requests for statewide Indiana data and the material that ships with Esri's ArcGIS software. The former are all represented here, as we crawl IGIC.org for spatial metadata and index it here. The latter are mostly represented here, as Esri's licensing forbids the public redistribution of some of the material (those layers that cannot be made public are still available to Purdue employees on the DVDs themselves).
