Web of Science: Basic Search Screens

Choose search screen

It's important to make sure you are on the right screen for what you want to be doing.

 

 

General Searches: 

Use if you want to search by key works, fine a specific article or  articles written by a specific author.  (This is the search page that comes up when you first arrive in Web of Science.)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cited Reference Searches: 

Use if you want to see who has cited a published book or article.  Cited reference searching allows you to take research forwards by seeing who else cited the article you are using.

General Searches

Use this screen to seach by topic, author, publication name, etc.
