A guide to help you research topics in African American Studies in the BCC Library and Purdue University Libraries.

Quick Links

Welcome to the BCC Library!

The BCC Library is a unique space on the Purdue Campus -- an entire library specializing in materials related to Black American life and thought!

It was established in 1970, and today it contains approximately 7,000 books including reference materials and materials you may check out.  We subscribe to numerous periodicals, including popular magazines, scholarly journals, and regional African American newspapers.  We also have a fine collection of DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, and vinyl recordings that include popular and educational titles.  We subscribe to a number of online databases devoted to research in African American studies; see the tab above, "Databases for Journal Articles." All materials are cataloged in the Purdue Libraries Catalog.

Our space includes a beautiful and spacious quiet reading room, and three group study rooms.  Wireless access is provided throughout the entire library.
