Media Collection in HSSE Library

The Libraries media collection, consisting largely of DVDs and VHS tapes, can be found on the 2nd floor of the HSSE library.

  • This collection supports academic courses taught across the University, but many titles support the Children's Literature studies.
  • Check out media items with a Purdue ID for a 16-week period.
  • Viewing equipment and headphones are available if you want to watch in the library.

Weston Woods Films at Purdue

The Library owns many DVDs and Videos produced by Weston Woods Studios. Each of these is based on the original illustrations in a children's picture book or the life of an author. Click on the link below to see a list.

Some DVDs or Videos have more than one story.  To find out if we own a specific title, search in "Books & Media". (See box on left for instructions.)  For example Stories Near and Far has these titles:

  • Hot Hippofrom the book by Mwenye Hadithi; illustrated by Adrienne Kennaway
  • Possum magic written by Mem Fox; illustrated by Julie Vivas ;
  • Tikki Tikki Tembo from the folktale retold by Arlene Mosel; illustrated by Blair Lent ;
  • I, Crocodile from the book by Fred Marcellino
