3D Printing: Sense 3D Scanner

This guide will assist patrons who plan to use the 3D printing available in the Wilmeth Active Learning Center (WALC).

How can I borrow the scanner?

You can borrow a Sense scanner for one week at a time.

Where can I borrow a scanner?

You can borrow a 3D scanner from the Library of Engineering & Science located in the WALC. Go to the Reference Desk located on the 2nd floor, & make sure you bring your PUID!

Software & Apps

We have two different generations of Sense 3D Scanners available for check-out, unfortunately they use two separate programs.

Please download & use the appropriate software for the scanner you borrow. (The generation will be indicated on the item tag & on a piece of paper in the scanner bag).

1st Gen. Software - For Windows and Macs this software allows you to scan faster and edit your scans!

2nd Gen. SoftwareFor Windows and Macs this software allows you to scan faster and edit your scans!

  • You will need to run the Sense software on a laptop or desktop to use the 3D scanner.

Sense 3D Scanner

The Sense is a Windows and Mac compatible 3D scanner. With a scan range 12 inches to 118 inches you can scan large and small objects. This scanner is perfect to jump into 3D printing.
