Provides information on federal and Indiana state governmental and legal resources for this class.

Federal Laws and Regulations

Numerous U.S. Government resources provide access to statutory laws and agency regulations responsible for enforcing these laws.  Information resources providing these laws include:

Public Laws (Contains the complete text of laws as they are passed by Congress and signed by the President.  Arranged in numerical order by congressional session e.g. Public Law (P.L.) 111-11 Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009)

United States Code (Contains the complete codified text of U.S. laws broken up into 50 different title areas of subjects. e.g. Title 43 Section 52 43 USC 52 Bureau of Land Management Surveying duties.)

Federal Register (Contains the text of newly approved federal regulations, the text of proposed regulations, presidential proclamations and executive orders, and announcements of agency meetings.  Published Monday-Friday)

Code of Federal Register (The complete corpus of federal regulations broken up into 50 different titles or subject areas. Updated annually on a rotating basis throughout the year. See especially Title 43 Parts  402-10010 covering Interior Dept. public land regulation)

List of Sections Affected  (Monthly updates of changes to the Code of Federal Regulations published in the Federal Register.

Unified Agenda (Semiannual Federal Register issues listing regulatory activities agencies anticipate engaging in.)

Regulations.gov  (Automated resource allowing individuals and organizations to comment on proposed federal regulations.)
